My name is Roger.

I'm six years old & love to be around you. Where ever you go, I go. They say I'm a big boy but I like to curl into a small ball. I weigh about 75 Lbs and once in a while I get silly. I like to stick my head into the toy box, pull out a stuffie and give it a good toss and if I don't like the way it bounces I'll grab another.

My favourite time of the day is breaky and supper. Ohh Yum Yum. My other fave is walkies. I love to stretch my legs but if I see a squirrel or cat or even a small dog I will get excited, so you better hold on.

If you adopt me I'll kiss ya.

Hope to give someone all my love

Roger.

Established in 1995 is a registered, non-profit, charitable organization of volunteers dedicated to finding responsible, loving homes for ex-racing Greyhounds that are unable to make the grade at the tracks throughout the United States.  Our aim is to further the understanding of what excellent, loving pets these noble creatures make.

The Greyhound has a wonderful temperament, friendly and refined, as gentle with children as they are affectionate with adults. These dogs are empathetic and social by nature and thrive on attention and human companionship.  This is a serene, mannerly breed blessed with an advanced sense of humour, as those who have adopted a Greyhound from the track would heartily agree.

For centuries Greyhounds have been bred to hunt by outrunning their prey.  They are second only to the Cheetah in speed and in full stride are breathtaking!  Greyhounds can accelerate to a speed of 40 MPH within seconds and must never be let off lead unless in a secured fenced-in area.

Because of their fine coat and lack of body fat, Greyhounds must be considered house dogs.  They are comfortable where you are comfortable, in a heated or air-conditioned home, on the couch, or in a soft, plump bed of their own.

Niagara Greyhound Adoption Inc. incurs considerable expense with every Greyhound that passes through its adoption program.  This adoption fee assists and allows us to make the following provisions for these wonderful pets: It helps to cover a full physical examination from the veterinarian, all vaccinations, the spaying or neutering, teeth cleaning, tick testing, worming, heartworm test and two months worth of prevention, new safety collar and lead, I.D. tag, placement package, transportation from the track and dog food for the foster program.  Other expenses such as photocopies, phone bills, extra veterinarian costs, etc. are covered through our constant fundraising efforts.  In addition, every Greyhound is fully groomed upon arrival from the track.  While in a foster home they are evaluated for personality and tested with children and cats.  This valuable process enables us to match a dog with the intended adopter and gives the dog a foundation before the Greyhound goes into its new home.

To adopt a Greyhound from NGA is $500.00.  Please send the non-refundable processing fee of $25.00 with application. The balance of $475.00 is due when a Greyhound is received.

Every Greyhound and its owner receive on-going support through the initial adjustment period and life-long support after adopting a Greyhound from our organization.  NGA also offers the opportunity to meet other Greyhound owners through a variety of events and activities throughout the year.

Information on Adopting from Niagara Greyhound Adoption Inc.
Dallas
My name is Dallas

I'm Just over 4 years old & I'm a big boy weighing in at 90Lbs and not an ounce of fat. My foster mom says I'm a Special Care Greyhound, for you see I have Epilepsy. I have pet insurance which is transferable to my new forever parents, so most of my medical costs are covered.

I get along with cats, they're funny. I love to be around people and will give you kisses, they say I'm very social, that's because I want to be the centre of attention.

I will let you know when I have to go outside and also let you know when I want in. I love to romp and jump in the snow.

If you want to see what tricks I can do, please adopt me.
